The Top 10 Crystals for Plants in the Home and Garden

The other day, I was chatting with a friend about my poor attempts at being a plant mom. I joked, "I think I'm more of a crystal person because keeping plants alive is a struggle for me!" It was funny, but also kind of sad to think about all the plants that did not make it under my care... RIP to those little beauties. (I am better with animals as they eat when they want and can communicate...)

But it got me thinking... Are plant people and crystal people essentially the same, just with differing levels of green-thumb skills? I mean, both plants and crystals come from Mother Nature and give off energy that just makes you feel at peace. Take a walk in nature and you will know what I mean. Hug a tree and you will know what I mean. Sit on a rock and you will know what I mean.

I've been experimenting a bit with combining my love for crystals with my passion for plants. As it turns out, plants resonate with crystal energy as much as we do! So, I've started placing crystals with my plants, and it's been a huge game-changer. Not only are they happier and healthier, but it's also made it easier for me to keep them thriving. Who knew crystals and plants could make such a dynamic duo?

These are my top 10 crystals for plant love!

1. Rose Quartz:

It may seem cliche, but Rose Quartz is a powerhouse crystal for Unconditonal Love, Compassion and, most importantly, Patience. Watching plants grow is generally a slow process, and this can lead to us being overly enthusiastic in our approach to loving them. *Cue over-watering, over-pruning, over exposure to sunshine, over-everything*. Rose Quartz teaches us to have patience, trust the process, and enjoy each stage of growth within ourselves and those around us. When it comes to the plants themselves, this gentle vibration of Rose Quartz can encourage the plant to bloom, literally and figuratively. Rose Quartz becomes the energetic support that we are hoping to give by our over zealous TLC. It is also a crystal of 7 Mohs on the hardness scale, meaning watering the plants will do no damage to the crystal itself, or seep any uninvited minerals into the soil.

2. Clear Quartz:

Picture this: your beloved plant baby is going through a rough patch. Maybe you've showered it with too much love, or perhaps it's fallen victim to the mischievous antics of a curious cat or dog. Or maybe those winter conditions indoors are just a bit too harsh for its liking. Whatever the cause, it's clear your plant could use a helping hand. Enter Clear Quartz, the ultimate plant savior! Clear Quartz is like the superhero of the crystal world, capable of healing all manner of woes, whether they're physical, mental, or energetic. It swoops in with its powerful healing energy, restoring balance and harmony to your struggling plant. By realigning energies and banishing negativity, Clear Quartz creates the perfect conditions for your plant to bounce back and thrive. Clear Quartz is also an energy amplifier, meaning it can give your other crystals a boost when they're running low on mojo. Put them together, and Clear Quartz will keep the energy flowing strong. It is also a crystal of 7 Mohs on the hardness scale, meaning watering the plants will do no damage to the crystal itself, or seep any uninvited minerals into the soil.

3. Selenite:

This one might seem strange... Maybe you are under the impression that if Selenite gets wet it dissolves. Do not worry, I was too. Then I did a bunch of research so you do not have to, and let me tell you! MYTH. That's another blog for another time. Plus there are different types of Selenite. The cloudy white Selenite we tend to be familiar with is actually Satin Spar. The other is actually Selenite, a beautiful clear variant, that is actually washed in a river after mining. What I am saying is put Selenite in your plant pot. Even Selenite dust! Yes, yes, yes. Firstly, Selenite is a source of Sulfur and Calcium, both required by plants soil to grow successfully and abundantly. This means that it does seep into the soil but for the best outcome. Secondly, Selenite is a wonderful cleanser of energies. It rids the low vibrations and recharges the higher vibrations. If your plants are suffering from negative energy in the space, a fresh cleanse and boost can completely transform them.

4. Moss Agate:

Nature's little secret for plant power! This crystal might not get as much hype as some other crystals, but let me tell you, it's a game-changer for your green pals. For starters, Moss Agate is basically a superfood for your plants. Packed with nutrients like potassium and manganese, Moss Agate gives your plants the boost they need to grow strong and healthy. It's like a green smoothie for your garden! But that's not all. Moss Agate also has this incredible ability to connect your plants with the energy of the Earth. It's like plugging them into nature's own power source, grounding them and helping them tap into their true potential. Also being connected deeply to Mother Nature's energy give this crystal such soothing energy, creating a calm and harmonious environment for your plants, and yourself, to thrive in.

5. Serpentine:

Personally, I'm a huge fan of Serpentine, but, being totally honest, it's all about moderation with this crystal. Serpentine contains trace elements of nickel, chromium, and cobalt, which in high doses can be toxic to your plants and soil. However, by placing Serpentine on top of the soil and being mindful of watering, we can harness its energy without any negative effects. And the benefits are worth it! Serpentine is like a shot of espresso for cellular growth, promoting healthy development and vibrant blossoms. Plus, its reputation as the "healer's stone" means it's great for helping plants recover from past struggles and embrace new opportunities for growth. With its deep connection to ancient knowledge and the planet's vibrations, it's like a little energy booster for anything living nearby.

6. Shungite:

Let's talk 'detoxification'. Shungite, often praised for its ability to purify water and boost its mineral content, works wonders for our leafy friends too. Think about it: if Shungite can cleanse water for us humans, imagine what it can do for plants, which require even less maintenance. For decades, Shungite powder has been a secret weapon in agriculture, enhancing soil properties when added to fertilizer. Plus, it's a pro at absorbing toxins like pesticides that can hinder plant growth. Ever heard of Shungite Water? Soaking Shungite in water infuses it with essential minerals, creating a nutrient-rich solution that plants thrive on. As their roots soak up this goodness, they get a boost in growth and vitality. And here's the cherry on top: Shungite isn't just good for detoxifying water and boosting plant health—it's also a beauty when it comes to EMF protection. Just like us, plants can feel the effects of electromagnetic radiation. Shungite acts as a shield, keeping harmful EMFs at bay and creating a safe, stress-free environment for both us and our leafy pals.

7. Unakite:

Unakite—the ultimate connector to Mother Nature's vibes! Known as the gardener's stone, Unakite has earned its reputation in the crystal world enhancing for new beginnings and fresh growth. Unakite is all about tapping into the energy of nature to foster growth and abundance. With its fertility vibes, it's like a green thumb in crystal form, encouraging bountiful growth and lush landscapes. Whether you're nurturing seedlings or cheering on new sprouts, Unakite is the perfect companion for your gardening adventures.

8. Amethyst:

Amethyst, the lavender of crystals, brings a sense of tranquility and serenity wherever it goes. Its soothing vibes create a gentle and nurturing atmosphere, perfect for fostering stable and healthy growth. Just like the calming scent of lavender, the peaceful energy of Amethyst lays the foundation for a harmonious space where plants can thrive. So if you're looking to create a peaceful oasis for your green friends, Amethyst is the perfect crystal companion to set the tone for growth and vitality.

9. Prehnite:

Prehnite, a remarkable crystal for the heart chakra, extends its nurturing energy beyond humans to benefit plants. While plants may not possess physical hearts, the unconditional love emitted by Prehnite offers a profound boost to their well-being. This abundant loving energy serves as a powerful healer, aiding in the recovery of any physical damage the plant may endure.

10. Aragonite Stars

The hue of this crystal mirrors its potent energy, and Brown Aragonite Stars exemplifies this connection beautifully. Its earthy brown color signifies its intense grounding properties, anchoring deeply into the earth's energies. This crystal forms a profound bond with Mother Nature, infusing plants with stabilizing vibrations. Its presence cultivates a serene and tranquil atmosphere, amplifying peaceful energies within any space it inhabits.

As I reflect on my journey as both a plant enthusiast and a crystal lover, I can't help but marvel at the beautiful synergy between these two realms of nature. While my green-thumb skills may still be a work in progress, integrating crystals into my plant care routine has been a revelation.
Witnessing the transformative power of crystals like Rose Quartz, Clear Quartz, and Selenite on my beloved green companions has been truly awe-inspiring. It's a reminder that the connection between plants and crystals runs deep, rooted in the essence of Mother Nature herself.
Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a crystal aficionado, exploring the dynamic relationship between plants and crystals offers a profound journey of growth, healing, and harmony. So let's continue to nurture our green friends and surround them with the loving energy of crystals, creating spaces of beauty, balance, and vitality in our homes and hearts.

With Gratitude,

Dani & Corey X
